A new travel team is gearing up and getting ready to finally
return to Kenya! For this implementation trip, the travel team will consist of
students Jay Tobia, Meena Mallela, Nicole Emmanuel, Priyesh Shah, Gautam
Venkatesan, Christine Nguyen, along with our two mentors Natalya Shimunova and
Will Reardon. We will be flying out on December 26th and returning
January 18th.
Since the last trip, we’ve all been working hard to design a
rainwater catchment system for two schools in Kolunje, Kenya. This design
improves upon the existing system currently in place at Miranga Primary School
and Archbishop Okoth Secondary School. During our time in Kenya, the travel
team will oversee the installation new gutters, tanks, and first flush systems
that make up our design.
Although the scope our project has altered slightly from the
last trip, the goal is still the same: to supply the community with a
sustainable source of clean water. We look forward to working with the community to achieve
this goal. Stay tuned for more updates!
Please keep mentors well hydrated
